Inspirations | BOLD Kitchen Backsplashes

I am currently on the lookout for a new backsplash to my kitchen. The kitchen is usually a lady's haven. So I decided I need to add a little more drama to my haven, some more boldness and glamour. And I can tell you there's no better way to do that than replacing / adding a unique backsplash. I've been shopping around for the right color and style that will compliment my kitchen and give me that look I seek. Currently, I have cherrywood cabinets with grey granite countertops.

I adore marble slabs for backsplash, they are easy to clean and add a 'rich' look to any kitchen, but I also love glass mosaics which mix in metal, stone, precious gems and sometimes mother of pearl.. I think that adds so much texture and movement for the backsplash.

Today I am sharing with you some very luxuriously bold  kitchens I have found with a variety of backsplash materials, colors and patterns.. hoping some of these will help direct you (if you are also considering replacing yours) as well as myself. Frankly, in my mind I know I'm leaning more towards a metallic look!.

Love the mother of pearl look!

These mosaics come in all different colors..

Reflective surfaces... I only wonder how much cleaning will be required... gorgeous stained mirror though!

There are many different styles of water jet patterns out there. Water jet patterns and tiles are made with machines that use a very high-pressure jet of water to cut into stone or glass materials, shaping them into beautiful designs. Although I am leaning towards the metallic finish, I am not quite decided on the pattern yet.. herringbones, penny rounds or rhomboids

Love this plain stainless steel look..

Last but not least, some colored high gloss acrylic backsplash inspirations... a most recent trend!

Once I am done with my backsplash installation, I promise to share the before and after photos! But for now, do you guys have any recommendations for me???

Color Crush | Emerald Green

As some of you know by now, my favorite colors are black, white and grey + I have a huge thing for gold accents. I also like to introduce pops of color every now and then to add life to a space and my favorite are jewel tones.  Emerald green which is my current COLOR CRUSH is THE color I have been trying to introduce to my home and my current projects lately. This color is so rich it's actually alive! Really it has a soul to it, at least that's how I perceive it!!

In Feng Shui, green is the color of growth, healing and NEW beginnings as it reminds us of mother nature. And I know we all love new beginnings.

What I find magnificent about this  tone of color is that it blends extremely well with many neutral colors and this fact makes introducing it into our homes much easier.

Emerald green works perfectly with: BLACK, WHITE, off-whites + beige and grey. It even looks fabulous with other pops of color and patterns like LEOPARD prints, pink, orange, red, yellow and even blue! Here are some examples.

Notice how great it looks against light and dark walls.

On a chair or sofa, it adds a layer of luxury if used in a velvety texture!!

Adore how it's been used in drapery..

bringing in the color using accessories and accent pieces..

That wall paper!

Refreshing and luxurious when used in powder rooms and bathrooms!

works in a baby boy or baby girl nursery..

Great color even on a patio!

Fabulous furniture in velvet emerald green..

And some fashion inspo, always........
