Inspirations | Dining in Style this Holiday Season

It is this time of the year again when decorations are up, lights are on, malls are buzzing and gifts are wrapped. Moving to the states 2 years ago, I realized the significance of this season on people's lives. I have to admit that the ambience and spirit of the season is very captivating.

Around this time is when families and friends come together to share gifts, prayers and meals in spaces that should be well decorated for the occasion. Below i am sharing with you some beautifully decorated dining spaces that reflect the spirit of the season.

You can choose your own theme to decorate your space which should reflect not only the special occasion but also the overall decor and style of the room.

Inspirations | The Year of The Horse in Wall Art

Happy New Chinese Year! Being a big fan of horses as well as art, horse art has never failed to grab my attention.. It works just right in a traditional room or with a more contemporary look. Whether a real photograph or painting, portray or abstract or even just a sketch, this art will surely add a chic look to your room.

Hot List | Cocktail Tables

This week has been a busy one for me as I have been searching for furniture pieces for my own family room! My search is still on but I am about to finally pick my cocktail table!! I wanted to share with you some cocktail / coffee tables that I had came across in my search this week and which I had totally fallen in love with!!

This very versatile and chic table is design by Coffinier Ku made of transparent acrylic. I love this piece because it lightens up a space and gives it an airy feel. Helps your room look more spacious.

This dramatic metal with glass top coffee table from Caracole in silver leaf finish is just right for an eclectic space. Contemporary and stylish, this table has the great detailing that will complement and add glamour to your room (not to mention the beautiful pattern).

Many of my clients are asking me about this look these days, the rustic and the bare.  This planked oak cocktail table with it's large columns and untreated wood says 'restoration warehouse' at its best.

French-inspired, this cocktail table in silver leaf finish will give your room a trendy look with it's decorative curvature.

My last piece will be this round brass finished and stained mirror top cocktail table. Brass and gold being very dear to my heart these days, so I chose this which also has the decorative quatrefoil pattern I ADORE.

Have a happy weekend!

Inspirations | Love your Living Spaces

Today I wanted to share with you some of the prettiest living room decors I have found (I am going to stick with living room decors for now). I made sure what I post today goes with the decor trend this season I.E. make sure there's plenty of color!! The living spaces below are pretty and each give off a different statement and feel. Let me have your comments below about which of these spaces do you personally prefer AND do let me know if you need to find any of the pieces used in the below living rooms.

Yellow and blue almost always complement each other. In the modern room decor above (designer unknown), the contrasting colors make a strong statement (blue and yellow vs black and white). Notice the colored accessories which draw attention to accent elements.

I personally love this one! The unique patterns and pieces help create a bold statement for this room altogether! I particularly like the rug (from the Rug Company) which is inspired by peacock feathers! Lovely.

Yes this is feminine. What I love about this decor is the clash of patters, florals and stripes. Not to mention the splash of color on wall, chair and flowers. This surely is a room to remember.

What do you think??

Hot List | Summer Styling

Your Living Room Must-Have Pieces this Summer

1. The Six Light Island (Grafitti Collection) from corbett Lighting is a fierce summer-y and very contemporary must-have in your family room. Brushed stainless steel finish and free forms will add a very modern dramatic look to your room.

2. This hand-woven 'Free Flow' beige rug with curvilinear and colorful stripes is part of by Kravet's Tibetan collection (www.Kravet.com).  The 'Free Flow' rug of Nepal is available in wool and / or different types of silk. This is great for your living room this season if you are remodeling or just adding a dash of color.
3. This extraordinary sofa (Pluriel Collection) from Ligne Roset is a confident and assured design. The sofa's rounded shape (with straight lines!) gives it a definite personality. The color I have chosen in the image will absolutely match your decor this season.

4. Lovely colorful cushions from Kyle Bunting (kylebunting.com) are a HUGE must-have if you want to add the color you desire this season. Did you know that these can be personalized to have your initials?! Absolutely in love.

5. Inspired from the Japanese culture (Koi fish) and designed by Joaquim Paulo, this centre table would make such a statement as a focal point in your living room. It comes in different textures and would have a lovely glow with the right lighting. The KOI table can be topped with either glass or marble (brabbu.com).
