Inspirations | Love your Living Spaces

Today I wanted to share with you some of the prettiest living room decors I have found (I am going to stick with living room decors for now). I made sure what I post today goes with the decor trend this season I.E. make sure there's plenty of color!! The living spaces below are pretty and each give off a different statement and feel. Let me have your comments below about which of these spaces do you personally prefer AND do let me know if you need to find any of the pieces used in the below living rooms.

Yellow and blue almost always complement each other. In the modern room decor above (designer unknown), the contrasting colors make a strong statement (blue and yellow vs black and white). Notice the colored accessories which draw attention to accent elements.

I personally love this one! The unique patterns and pieces help create a bold statement for this room altogether! I particularly like the rug (from the Rug Company) which is inspired by peacock feathers! Lovely.

Yes this is feminine. What I love about this decor is the clash of patters, florals and stripes. Not to mention the splash of color on wall, chair and flowers. This surely is a room to remember.

What do you think??

Hot List | Summer Styling

Your Living Room Must-Have Pieces this Summer

1. The Six Light Island (Grafitti Collection) from corbett Lighting is a fierce summer-y and very contemporary must-have in your family room. Brushed stainless steel finish and free forms will add a very modern dramatic look to your room.

2. This hand-woven 'Free Flow' beige rug with curvilinear and colorful stripes is part of by Kravet's Tibetan collection (www.Kravet.com).  The 'Free Flow' rug of Nepal is available in wool and / or different types of silk. This is great for your living room this season if you are remodeling or just adding a dash of color.
3. This extraordinary sofa (Pluriel Collection) from Ligne Roset is a confident and assured design. The sofa's rounded shape (with straight lines!) gives it a definite personality. The color I have chosen in the image will absolutely match your decor this season.

4. Lovely colorful cushions from Kyle Bunting (kylebunting.com) are a HUGE must-have if you want to add the color you desire this season. Did you know that these can be personalized to have your initials?! Absolutely in love.

5. Inspired from the Japanese culture (Koi fish) and designed by Joaquim Paulo, this centre table would make such a statement as a focal point in your living room. It comes in different textures and would have a lovely glow with the right lighting. The KOI table can be topped with either glass or marble (brabbu.com).

Tips on | adding pops of color to your living space: Summer Styling

Color Pantone recommended this season

So this spring / summer is your opportunity to play around with color and pick your favorite to add to your space! If you are looking to create a vibrant interior that is mood-lifting, playful, trendy and in-line with this season, here are some tips and ideas that are easy to implement!

There are absolutely many colors that you can pick from this season to create a new 'feel' for your space. Easy and simple ways explained below if you are not ready to fully remodel or redecorate your space.

Today I wanted to share with you these colors and tips which I find incredibly fun and fashionable.

The space we are looking at today is your LIVING ROOM.

Pink, orange, green (as well as pistachio and turquoise) and yellow are some of my favorite this season! Adding drapes with bold, fiery colors is sure to bring freshness to your living room.  If possible, match them with some cushions! Choosing a vibrant pattern like the one shown above will double the effect.

If you have a living room (modern or more traditional) with neutral colors, try breaking the monotony of your room by adding  bold colored single armchairs or love seats (see images above). Or you can add an ottoman of the bold color you pick. Adding a small rug is also a great idea if you find the right one!

Just remember to complement the style of your room, so if you have a modern living room try to pick something with straight lines. If you are the traditional lover, make sure your seater has some curves!

If have more of an eclectic taste, a funky colorful wall artwork would be brilliant, not to forget the cushions to relate!! Or, you can introduce a couch linen / fabric of your color of choice.

The amount of color you wish to introduce is totally up to you, you can maintain the original color of your living room and just add a pop of color here and there (image above - left), or you can go all the way (image above - right).

Finally, a beautiful and simple way to add some color is flowers, you can use either fresh or artificial flowers (I personally prefer fresh) but the artificial ones will serve the purpose and obviously last longer.

Have a colorful summer!! :))
